Yesterday’s Lever Street Clinic saw bowels being regulated, protein intake for vegans being optimised, weight being lost and a Coeliac being given the tools to achieve their weight gain goals.
This was all done under the careful instruction of a registered dietitian and that is why The Food Treatment Clinic is so successful. The best comment of yesterday from a new client has to be
‘This is the first time I have seen a nutritionist about nutrition and not felt anxious’
To which my reply was : ‘That is because you didn’t see a nutritionist’
This is where I want to highlight the difference of being a dietitian – by law the only people that can call themselves dietitians are those who have completed the relevant degree and are registered with the Health and Care Professional’s Council. You can check this on their online register.
Dietitians are regulated and there is some things we can and can not do that may surprise you. For instance we can’t be paid to promote any products unless it is very clear that we have been paid to do so and that there is actual scientific evidence for it. We also can’t advise anything unless there is solid scientific evidence behind it – hence why The Food Treatment Clinic advise always works. Dietitians are also randomly audited regularly which means we have to prove how we have stayed up to date with our practise or else we get taken off that register.
Unfortunately, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, nutritional therapist or personal trainer. Some of these people may have great qualifications and can give you advice around healthy eating, but they still can’t advise on any medical problems. Whilst some of these people have no qualifications or qualifications which they bought online or through so called institutes. The problem is how do you know the difference?
So if you would like to invest in some nutrition advise that is prove to work and help your health – contact us today.
